I was educated in the UK where, following my BSc degree in Building Surveying, I worked for several building surveying private practices such as Craig, Hall & Rutley and then the Architects Hunter & Partners before gaining my Royal Charter from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) in 1986.

Following this, I began practicing as a Chartered Building Surveyor for one of the specialists London West end Corporate real estate brokers, Teacher Marks Deal.

In 1990, along with two colleagues, I was the founding director of TMD Building Consultancy which is still one of the leading specialists in Building Surveying and Project Management practices in Central London to this day.

In 1997, and being a massive rugby fan I took a trip to South Africa to watch the British Lions tour. What I didn’t expect was to fall in love with the Country and its people, the weather didn’t hurt the cause either! This was truly an example of the proverb “once you have the dust of Africa on your feet you cannot shake it off”

Before the end of 1997, I was back in South Africa again to see if I could map out a future in this most interesting of countries.  This was the time of the Nelson Mandela Presidency, and the country was full of hope and expectation, it was truly a fascinating place. It was also the time that I met my beautiful Wife, Lynn.

From early in 1998, I spent four years as the lead Project Manager at the Emerald Safari Resort development on the Vaal River South of Johannesburg. Following the successful completion of this development, I spent 12 years at the Total Facilities Management Company (TFMC) as the Managing Executive in charge of the Professional Services division, serving on EXCO as well as providing leadership roles in Business Intelligence and Business Development, both in South Africa and overseas. It is in my role in these two areas that my fascination and passion for the strategic impact of the workplace and the value it can provide for customer organisations, was born.

In 2013 I joined what was then known as Drake & Scull. In 2016 Drake and Scull formally became Tsebo Facilities Solutions. Since 2013. As a director of the company, I had a wide-ranging, varied and roving role to identify, develop and implement strategic change management initiatives in the business that can deliver to the bottom line.

I served on the board of two of Tsebo’s operating subsidiaries in Lesotho and Botswana. I have also been responsible for overseeing our strategic relationships with our business partners, as well as innovation and developing new opportunities and products.

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Building Surveying, I am the current South African Ambassador to Euro FM, I am a past member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a past Director and Vice Chair of the South African Facilities Management Association (SAFMA), I am also a professionally registered Project Manager with SACPCMP as well as a Member of the British Institute of Facilities Management (MBIFM).

I am Married to Lynn and am the proud co-founder of 3 Child Start-ups Tyler, Jessica, and Callum.
